Learning To Dive In

In which I find that letting go of old fears can be a very good thing.

I have been very clear that I thought that my being chosen by whatever it might have been to be the leader of this online group of over 20 thousand+ crones/witches a little over a year ago was an odd choice, but I am working at being worthy. Even a year ago, I would have avoided a gathering like this but yesterday I sat down in my garden with my phone and managed to get Google Meet to function, which was itself a major success. I participated in Maryam’s first group with trepidation to be honest, although Maryam is a friend and I have worked with her before...but doing something very new is never easy and I have particular worries about whether or not I know how to behave in a group. There were five of us in the group, Maryam, two women and two men. It was a very good experience, and a new one for me, to be meditating in a group, albeit one that was grouping on the internet...but then it is all energy, right? I wondered whether I would find the chanting/song weird, but I did not and was even comfortable enough to take part in it.

After we were done and we were talking about our experience in the group, I mentioned that during the vocal part I was remembering how a friend of mine gave me a birthday present of meditation lessons with the Maharishi group back in the 70s and then that unlocked an even older memory of my having taken a dance class in which the teacher taught me that I could open my arms to allow my hands out so that I would not longer be guarding my body so fiercely. Spinning, spinning with my hands outstretched.

The experience was well worth the annoyance of arranging something that would happen in the middle of an afternoon for me. Only a few people tried to talk to me but they were hushed away. I only wish I'd had a bit more breeze to tell the farm flies to leave me alone as well. These sessions are free and the time zone is GMT+2, whatever that means wherever you are. If you are interested, I can recommend it.

Wearing accessories, knots and belts is a big NO as we need the energy both open and neutral. Trust is a Big thing.
